Requesting some admin help...

macrobaye.....'promotion' or rather 'level change' can go both ways, depending on circumstances.

It seems at times tolerance levels are reached along the lines of 'the straw that breaks the camel's back'.  The odd misplaced comment or such may slip beneath the radar...but often there can be a litany of niggling issues that eventually lead to a response.

Perhaps this is one such case.

I am loath to take it upon myself to alter anything until it's verified what is what and why.... 

Ok but I know it wasn't Frogboy (he verified that in a thread that he posted about freedom of speech)... and it apparently wasn't you, and I don't really have any contact with the other Admins much... But I do understand that you won't do anything until it's verified...

But I do think that if an Admin did demote me, I would have been notified of the demotion... And the other thing is, it must have been VERY recent, because I rated a wallpaper or something yesterday, and now I'm a citizen and can't do those things...

Well....1.20am, Tuesday here...bedtime...so it's going to have to wait a while....done my 6 or 7 hours on here today....

Sorry to be impatient, but...well I guess I'm just impatient. If I were an admin I would have fixed this by now! (but i'm not, i know, so don't give me crap for that comment )

Well, it wasn't me... But to be blunt (that's my way) I've seen nothing by you to warrant any kind of promotion. The majority of your messageboard posts are antagonistic, sooner or later that's going to rub people the wrong way. I guess that's what's happened.

Perhaps you should spend some time examining your own behaviour instead of others' (hint).

Fuzzy, check my threads and you'll see that I do deserve (and did before) a promotion. Specifically the thread about new users and 'revolution' at WC. For about one month I not only commented on skins, but also fairly rated them. And on top of all that, I've got over 140,000 dls under my belt.

I do participate a lot in WC message board threads, and many of them happen to be threads where I stick up for Apple or myself. But I have never come out and bashed any person or thing that wasn't a retaliation (sticking up for myself).

But the fact of the matter is that two days ago I was an Apprentice, now I'm a citizen. Frogboy told me that he did now demote me, but he did add 'exiled' to my name as a warning over a careless comment of mine. I know Jafo did not demote me either, and there are no other Wizops or Admins that I have been in even the slightest contact with.

My posts may be one-sided, but I frequently feel the need to stick up for 'the little guy', whether that be myself or Apple. Apple is seen as a prime target on this site, and I feel that I have the right to make comments IMHO.

So, a recap: Was an Apprentice 2 days ago wasn't Frogboy or Jafo (however Frogboy did change my name, which may have altered my account status) 140,000 dls frequent contributions to the message boards frequent comments on skins been here for a long time

So please, let's just put things the way they were. There are many people who have been made into Journeymen and Apprentices soley on the basis of DLs, but I am one that has contributed to this community in many different ways, and am deserved of the Apprentice title that I previously held (from 20,000 DLs to present).

Just some thoughts here.

It probably would be better to handle this through email.  It is probably not a good idea to try and find someone to blame.  Likely as not, then your title switched around some settings dropped and would need to be reset.  But finding someone to blame, or not blame is just counter productive.  I think you will find that the moderators here are pretty united and unlikely to take some action without a thorough discussion of the situation.

I remember that thread you referred to.  In that thread you promoted the idea that it is ok to rate skins that you haven't actually tried.  I never did think that was very fair.  Especially with wb skins and dx objects.  Lots and lots of them are quite dramatically different in appearance in use than in a preview.  And spontaneous, real, heartfelt ratings and comments are always better than something obtained to fill some quota.

Download counts are not the single standard for promotion.  Quality of participation, quantity, duration... other things all factor in.

But mostly, IMO it would be way better to handle this through email with the appropriate person.  Playing out this kind of drama on a forum is not good for you, nor for the community at large.
