BootSkin help

When I try bootskin, I pick one, apply it, then I 'X' out. I start it up again, and its back on default. Do I need bootskin 1.02 or 1.03.

when i pick a bootscreen and apply it.. when it reboots its always on the default screen...and when it does work, after the boot i get a black screen.. nothin.. i have to hard boot it.. then it starts in safe mode.. my problem is, is that i have downloaded all of the versions...and they all do the same thing..
