how do i change my bootscreen in win98 se?

Create 3 Screens of size 320 x 400 256 color
One For Start Logo
One for Wait Screen
and One for Turn Off Screen
Save them all as Logo.sys , Logow.sys and logos.sys respectively.
Then Replace the Original Logos In yor Windows Directory.
They will also be .sys Files

You can open the default Logos in MSPaint ( Shift + Right click => Open with..) to get an idea what the images should be.

the Should be in Win98 Directory.

e.g.
C:\Windows\logo.sys
C:\Windows\logow.sys
C:\Windows\logos.sys

Just a stab in the dark here, but after you edit the images, are you saving them as logo.sys etc or logo.bmp. It needs to be logo.sys AND is limited to the 256? colors.

...and put in the Windows dir.

Oh, and er, logo.sys goes in the root of the drive. Ergo: c:\logo.sys

if you decide to have more than one set of logo screens, it'sbest to keep them in a seperate folder , and name each one something_logo.sys
something_logow.sys and something_logos.sys.
when you want to install the others, copy, paste into c:\ and c:\windows, replace the ones in those directories with the new ones and then "change name" to logo.sys,logow.sys and logos.sys.
because you have made them "copies" you still retain the originals in that seperate folder with their names so you know what they are for future reference.

at least that's what I used to do when I had 98....

i downloaded susd3 now how do i apply bootscreens from wincustomize using it? can i do a drag and drop or what?

They are for XP only.

use desktop architect is free and manager of wallpaper,icon,bootscreen,cursor and other !!!
is the best for w98 !!!and very easy too use !

then upgrade so you can install windows XP.
