Trash Can

I recently downloaded a set of Trashcan skins from Menta, but I don't know how to get it so the icon changes when the Trashcan is full. Any help would be appreciated.

I do not have the answer for you OutlawForgiven, but I found an answer for you paxx.

It is an ObjectDock skin.

If we're talking ObjectDock, then it's simple. Right-click the dock icon, and Select Dock Entry Properties. The dialog that pops up, will give you the option to set the images for the empty, and full states.

Here is the easiest way to apply your icon changes if it did not happen automatically. Go to "Display Settings" Click on the Desktop tab, click on the "Customize Desktop" button at the bottom of the screen. The desktop items screen will appear. Click on "Recycle Bin (Full)". Click "Change Icon...". When the change icon screen will appear. Click browse, find the new icons, click on the icon you want and click ok. This should set you up with the icon you want. I am new to this site, so I hope this can help.

Ah, Object Dock icons.

Right-click on your recycle bin, select "Dock Entry Properties", the change both your images for Full and Empty.

BTW: I have Object Dock Plus, I don't remember the exact setting on Object Dock regular, but it's somewhat the same.

OK, since you weren't very clear with your question, it leaves us trying to guess in order to help you. So if you are wanting to change the trash icon in Object Dock,  refer to replies #3 and #5. If you want to change your trash icons on your desktop using just Windows XP built-in features, follow #4 instructions. BTW regarding reply #4, make sure to select the ICO files, and the PNG's won't work in XP.  Object Dock on the other hand supports both.

Sorry for not being specific, guys. I was doing a lot at the time I posted this. What I want to do is use the icons in DesktopX without Object Dock. Is that possible? Is there some script I would need?

OK then.

Create a new object. In the Properties windows, at the bottom of the General tab, where it says "Additional abilities", click on "Add". Then select the Trash bin plugin. After that, click on the States tab, and browse for your "Full" and "Empty" images in the appropriate states. Click OK. That's it.
