Problems with Bootskin??

I have tried 3 different versions of the bootskin, all 3 crash.I would love to know if there are any updates or patches for this problem.I am on winxp.I have already downloaded quite a few bootskins they load correctly but when i install them they cause my comp to go into selective startup and to only go back to default winxp boot screen.I would love to use these skins any help would be appreciated. Thnks MaestroAKQ.

When you say they load correctly, Do you mean that if you click on a skin then hit apply, it says "Bootskin applied successfully, This skin will be used the next time this machine is booted" or do you actually see the skin?

It says it has been applied succesfully, but at boot screen it has an error and then loads all drivers exct. and after that i have to start in safe mode and put it back to default.

also, if the bootskin isnt working properly, it can cause BSoDs (forget the actual stop error), not just graphics corruption.
also, changes done to Win XP in SP 2 affect bootskin (on my machine, itll show the original bootskin for a second before showing the customised one)

There are certain motherboards that do not like Bootskin esp after installation of SP2.
Have you installed SP2?
I have had no ill effects of Bootskin after SP2 installation.
If it doesn't work at all, either the motherboard is one of those you cannot have bootskin with, or the original boot.ini file is corrupt. Do you use more than 1 Os on your system?
