xp start menu title - right justification

Does this work ok? I don't seem to be able to get the text to right justify satisfactorily. It only seems to put the text over to the right, 'somewhere'. I don't know which margin settings may be affecting where the text ends up.

Any iseas?

Do you mean the user name on top?
Yes Its a problem justifing it to the right. I have tried this a number of times and in the end always have to adjust the image with the text rather than to adjust the text to the image.

is there a way of turning the text off completely?

It seems that some margin is padding the user name text and making right alignment not exactly all the way to the right. I'm not sure which margin it is either. I would think the easiest way to remove the text completely would be to adjust the margins so that the text gets pushed off the user pane.

To remove the user name text all together.... create a font for the user name only ...set the text angle to 1800. Text Gone! I spent hours this weekend trying to align the user text and got nowhere except stuck. I wish I had some solid advice to give.

Hey, that's a good trick, NightTrain.

Yeah this will help alot in minimalistic tittles.
Hope I spelled right.

Better using the margin to suck the text off the userpane. It's only one attribute, whereas a font preset involves at least 5 to have it work.

Oh, and if it's any help, the left content margin pushes the user icon AND text toward the right side. The right content margin however pulls the text towards the right, on it's own (i.e. leaves the user icon where it is) for some bizarre reason.
Using negative values on the left margin let's you pull the text back to the left. And a value of -500 can remove the text and user icon.

The -500 value isn't working. Must be me. The text doesn't move no matter what I do. Grrrrr. Wont move right , wont move left...any chance it may be a bug?

you have to have the user picture enabled in wb configuration and then what Hippy said works. I never have my user pic enabled so I wasted hours on that one. Thanks to Essencay!

Yeah, if the user pic is disabled the user name gets treated as if the user is on a domain. When you're logged onto a domain, it ignores the user pane content margins completely.

yeah i disabled the user picture and the username got back. Made a mess of essorants 3 skins in the process.

That explains a lot.

text angle of 1800 has always worked for me...just in case I specify a really small font and try to remember to set it a color that might blend just in case but the text has never re-appeared yet.

All those tips are very useful. I'll probably be using the 'text angle' fudge on my next skin (which should be ready tomorrow now I have this sorted out!)

Thank you all for the temporary loan of your brains. You can have them back now.

(I don't usually use one.)

And it does work! Now I have to put up with the people who will say "hey - my Start Menu title text is missing" ...because they haven't read the explanation in the description when I post the skin!

I'll admit it.... I'm blind. Where is this text angle setting?
