Can objectdock+ replace the Start Menu

I seen nothing that can make turning of the Start menu possible.

No shutdown, run, help and support, connect to, control panel, search, my document, my pictures, adimin tools, printers and faxes....


OD+ is cool but I still need the Start Button.

Is there a fully functional replacement ?

So, yes, with some docklets, OD+ can completely replace the Start menu.

I did try some of the docklets BlueDev pointed me to, THANKS !!!

I just which I can find a guide that will get me on the road of understanding and writing my own code.

Found nothing yet

There is program which I seen the documentation for that Stardock did write for developing WB Skins. Can somebody tells me what to do to get started ?

Open a skin you are familiar with in Skin studio. Tear it apart. Try to change the color of the entire skin piece by piece. I believe it to be the easiest way to find your way around skinstudio.

Technician : heh - no hostility, its just i needed the same functionality that the start menu gave, so i was telling you my solution - if you dont have a windows key then do what Chris TH said and press cntrl+esc

No, it can't replace the Taskbar. Even thought OD can display running applications in its own taskbar, you can't drag n drop objects onto its taskbar and have it restore that window or app for you to drop the object into.

The system tray feature can't dynamically change system tray icons set by OD. For example, AIM has several system tray icons that depict the status of the application, if you replaced the oem icon w/a nicer one (which is one of the major reasons why we're all using this) it will only statically display that icon and cannot be dynamically by AIM. Also, right-click functionality on system tray icons is buggy.

I don't believe there is a MY RECENT DOCUMENTS functionality to OD either. Nor does OD remember your recent applications and saves the shortcut the way Windows Startbar does it.

A true HELP & SUPPORT and SEARCH shortcut would be nice too.

I've love to be freed from the Windows Startbar and although it isn't MacFlashy and nor does it have many bells & whistles, you've gotta admit that little guy sure does alot!
