I've had adaware SE Personal for awhile, and ive had no problems with it, until now...
The problem is that whenever i run a scan, my computer will just stop working and go into this blue screen that says"Press any key to continue or ctrl+alt+del to restart your computer." Can anyone help me??

Im running windows ME. The message states: "An exception of 0D has occured at 0028:1000AYDA in VxD VWM (01) + 000094DA. It was called from 0028:C023F58B in VxD VMM (0C + 0000058B. It may be possible to continue normally.

* Press any key to attempt to continue normally.
* Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart your computer."

What happens when you "press any key to continue"?
Are you having any other problems such as your homepage changing?

When i press any key to continue, it returns to my desktop and the computer runs normally. I havent really noticed any major signs of spyware, my comp isnt running slowly, and my homepage isnt changing. However, i have ended adware scans early to keep the comp from messing up, and i have found HIGH risk items and other low risk files...

Try to download and run Spybot - Search & Destroy. That is a similar program to Ad-Aware and it's free too. You can download it here http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Spybot and Adaware used as a combination will catch most spyware out there, though Spybot doesn't seem to get updated very often anymore. You can also run SpywareGuard and Spyblaster. They run in the background and prevent spy/adware from installing on your system in the first place. http://majorgeeks.com/downloads31.html
If you haven't tried Firefox yet, give it a try. I've been using it for close to a year now. I run Adaware & Spybot weekly and rarely come up with anything anymore
If you still want to browse with IE, you could try BHODemon, it keeps browser helper objects from installing without your knowledge. It should be available at same link.

I just ran spybot and i fixed 14 problems, which will work for now...

What you should do now, is reboot your computer and try to run Ad-Aware again. The two programs DO find different kinds of malicious threaths, simply because of the very way they are built. NO program can fix all the problems you have on your computer, since most of the time the problem usually is at the other end - the user. Be sure to have a virus-program that is updated, and try to run the two programs again until no problems are found, otherwise you can't expect people to have a solution for your problems here in this forum
