Administrative Tools/Events Viewer....what is the error before Dr Watson went south?

um... I have some errors in systems, and applications.  The applications one are two system hangs catagory (101)  and two application errors (catagory none and 100).   Also a warning userenv (sounds like its blaming me )

The system one is service control manager 7011, and a warning E1008 event 4.

is that the right stuff?

Explorer.exe crashed and re-started. Turn the sound in 'Natural Desktop' off. Also, check your memory usage in Taskmanager/Performance. If you're using more then 75% of it after a re-boot, then you're coming up short on memory. Userenv actually is blaming you...sort of. When Explorer goes down, Windows can't access your registry and thus has, momentary at least, no idea who you are...so don't take it personal

hehe... well I usually have the sound off.  But tonight it is raining and sometimes it has trouble dealing with rain (or lots of clouds).  On the performance page I have two memory panals (neither in percentages).  One of them is physical and one is kernal.  So I should open that next time I reboot to see how its doing?

This is probably a dumb question.... I know I have lots of ram because I put in two 512 mb cards myself.  And I installed that new hard drive and it isn't even half full  yet.  But CPU so often is the limiting factor... how does a person get more of that?  And I think the computer would run better with a better graphic card, but it might not be worth putting one in this computer... its a 1.8 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4, 8 kilobyte primary memory, 512 secondary.  What are 'good' machines having these days?

1.8 ghz isnt that slow...unless your motherboard is already maxed out in what processor it will handle,you can get a faster one...I upgraded my 1 gig machine to a 2400+...but it wouldnt see more than 1800+ til I did a bios flash.(which I got from the MB site.I think I paid 99$ for a new proc.

Its not terribly hard to do,but it does need to be done right,If your not comfortable doing it,find a nerd.(or rent one)

hehe... thanks IRB.  I'll be reading up on all that stuff.  I remember people sweating out their bois flashes... (sounds like a mid-life thing, doesn't it?)
