Use the Chat Room!

Come on guys, Stardock has given us a nice chat system in the Stardock Central program and no one ever uses it! We use these forums like chat rooms sometimes so why not untilize the chat room we have. Galciv even has its own chat room on the network. To join the galciv chat room click chat and then type /join #GalCiv

Lets see some chatters!!!

For those of you that want a look at "The A.S.S" or just to chat.. i'm in the chat room now

to get the pici you'll need to run a proper irc client like mirc available at www.mirc.com

to setup mirc to chat on #GalCiv
Select file,options menu
then click on add server

Here is how i have mine set up

Description: Stardock
Irc server: irc.stardock.com
port: 6667
group: stardock

then in the main options, connection screen.. type in your details.. eg: name , email, nick,nick2

then select the connection you've just setup and press the connect button

once your connected type in
/join #GalCiv
this is case sensative.. if you do all of the above you'll now be chatting in #GalCiv on irc.stardock.com
Read all the msgs that appear when you connect to the server.. It lists other channels etc.. that you can join as well.

Have fun and see you there

The ANZACS now have a dedicated room.. where my file server now resides

when you connect type in

/join #ANZAC

My fileserver is only online when I am..

To access my file server you'll need to be running a full irc client such as mirc , trillian, pirch , or one of many others and type in room #ANZAC

!ANZAC

To get up a directory of what files are in there type in the server window that pops up

Dir

To Download a file in the server window type in

get filename.ext

BTW... don't forget about the main #GalCiv channel

see you all there

I've been an avid user of IRC for almsot 3 years now. I'm on most nights (EST), and occasionally stay up till the wee AM hours. I'd suggest that the Fellowship establish a channel; I could maintain it, but it would be great if others could come along. Anyone know if regular mIRC commands work on the SD servers?
If anyone has any questions I can help them out as best as I can.

Go for it, Cirrhosis. Much appreciated if you could do that for the Fellowship.

No one around now but I'll check it later.

The FOTR room appears to be /join #Fellowship.
