My travels have brought me once again to these hallowed grounds. I've posted my first game in a long while: just a tiny suicidal map to help tune my Force senses to the the new races. I'm glad to see that newer, younger Jedi have continued to learn and grow in the Force, the Metaverse, and the Jedi ways.

Ah. My old master Qui-Gon returns at last. Greetings from one who was once known as Obi-Wan.

"Strangers" they may be, but the newer, younger Jedi have held true to the old ways. As has Master Yoda, who's either off on another FPS gaming hiatus or in an another alcohol-induced coma.

If you haven't stumbled across the "Empires" forum yet, check out the icon for it on the left side of the page, just above the one for "Galactic Council;" the Jedi have a whole new thread over there. This one is mainly used so that we old farts can remember old times.

Use of Force

Chapter 1 – An End of Sorts

[Scene starts with a view of space, slowly zooming in on a star not much different from any other, the star slowly becomes larger and larger until you can see that we are not zooming in on the star but a city-planet called Coruscant and a special building - the Jedi temple]

The Jedi forces were in tatters. They needed time to regroup. They were in retreat across the galaxy, soon there would be nowhere left to run. They had fought and won battle after battle across hundreds of worlds and the depths of space. Billions had died. Yet still the enemy came on, every division the Jedi destroyed they seemed to be replaced by ten dozen. Our enemy is limitless thought Arcilte.

He looked at the surviving council members around him, so many faces missing, so many friends lost in the senseless carnage of the past three years. Their faces were blank and impassive, the exhaustion of the small group was almost tangible, each had pushed themselves beyond their limits only to be defeated and outmaneuvered at every turn. They numbered only six where fourteen should have sat, Obi-wan, Icho-Tolot, Qui-Gonn, MBM, Admiral Sherbert and himself.

The figures on his datapad danced across the screen, he still couldn’t believe they were here defending coruscant. They were so few, they might repel the first assault but what about the second? The third? They were going to lose.

“A penny for your thoughts Arcilte?” enquired Obi-wan, “You wouldn’t want to hear them” replied Arcilte to his former master, “Dark times breed dark thoughts and I must rise above them” he continued. “Have we heard anything from our allies? Are they sending forces to help?” enquired Sherbert, his fleet had been battered to the brink of extinction and the few ships left were in orbit above them, where once the Jedi had commanded a fleet of over ten thousand ships they now commanded a thousand at best. Arcilte shook his head in reply. “The Halut? The Organians? The Mon-Calamari?” Sherbert sounded almost desperate but again Arcilte shook his head.

A deep voiced rumbled into life, it sounded and felt almost like a mountain was speaking, Icho Tolot began to speak “The Halut have withdrawn to defend the homeworld, our chances do not look good, soon I may be the only Halutian left in the alliance”. “That’s been the story from all our allies for the past few years” continued Obi-Wan “Key allies in every sector have either been destroyed or have defected to the enemy, if we had managed to hold the political situation together we might not be here now.”

Obi-Wan hung his head in thought for a moment, remembering the scenes on Tatooine where the Hutts had fought a desperate last ditch defence, bodies lay all around Mos-Eisley, not a soul left alive, the enemy massacred the inhabitants of every planet they took, there were now thousands of lifeless worlds where once you could hear the laughter of children playing. Their inhabitants had put their faith in the Jedi to protect them and the Jedi had failed.

“Where is Yoda?” said MBM almost pleading for some good news. “Master Yoda is still missing, you know that MBM, stop clutching at straws” said Qui-Gonn tersely, then realizing perhaps he had been a bit too harsh continued “ I admit we need his guidance now more than ever but he disappeared at the end of the war with the MWC and hasn’t been seen since.”

Qui-Gonn winced in pain as he felt the contact of an alien mind, “they’re here”, he didn’t need to say whom. This was one thing that troubled Qui-Gonn greatly, why could he feel the enemy when the others could not? They were just as sensitive to the force but only he feel them and it caused him great pain. Maybe it was because he was the first Jedi to encounter them? He cast his memory back to the dispute on Zagama where he had first found them at work five years ago, if only they had acted then! But why would that make a difference?

A warning Klaxon sounded, the viewscreen at the far end of the council chambers sparked into life and Captain Donos came into view “My lords the enemy have entered the system and we will be engaging them shortly”. “We are on our way” Arcilte responded and turned to address the council “Gentlemen to your ships. We have an enemy to destroy. May the force be with us”. “May the force be with us” the council replied.

The time has come:

Chapter 6: Introduction of the Omega

“We know that several years ago a strange spatial distortion “pulled” multiple objects from different universes into the Metaverse, including worlds like Coruscant, Tatooin and Halut! The same thing happened to some of the Uleb worlds. And a ship that travelled thru an interdimensional space, the Omega…”
“Pulse space for being precisely.” A voice came from the door.

There stood Taik and two persons, which could not have looked different while wearing the same uniform. One was about five foot high, broad and had a bald head and light grey eyes, the other was 15 foot high, had 12 foot wide shoulders and a very muscular body. Everybody thought that Halutians were huge, but this man, and there was no doubt about his gender, was just titanic. And some of the councillors realized something else, he was moving with extreme caution, as if he feared to damage the area.
Recognizing this Arclite said “Say what world are you from, my large friend and how high is the gravity there that you are moving that cautious here?”
“And what are your names?” Exar added.
“My name is Col. Kalar and this is Chief Wolf. My home world is Tamira one of Icons colonies, it does not exist “here” and its gravity is about twenty five times the one of this world.”
“Twenty five Gravos, WoW!” M.B.M. said “So you are what is called an “extremo”
“He is my Security Chief!” The Chief said
The two moved forward, Kalar more cautiously then the Chief
“So I assume you have a good reason for your “urgent” call” Tolot started
“Oh yes, Sentry One and Three reported that massive amounts of ships entered their sensor range.”
“How many?” Taik asked
“About three hundred thousand total. According to the specifications you gave us, they are Uleb units, at the moment they are moving with about 10% light speed only! It appears as if they are waiting for something!”
“So the question is: What are they waiting for and where will they go?” Arclite started
“For the moment it looks like they are moving towards the galactic core, but that’s a pretty general direction, since they are coming from beyond the Outer Rim.”

“I assume you know something about what happened to the worlds and your ship? Something we do not know!” Arclite asked.
“Well, we were on an important mission, suddenly something like an explosion wiped out the linear space on our screen and we fell unconscious. When we wake up, we were back in normal space, in the center of M-13, that was three months ago. Some of our machines were damaged, due the leak of traffic, we quickly found out that we were not were we were supposed, or thought to be. “
“Three months? Coruscant is here for several decades!” Sherbert said
“Halut for about 1200 years” Tolot added
“But we already assumed that there was a temporal component”
“The phenomenon itself is greatly mysterious to us too. Our scientists found out that a large disturbance of existence nature has happened and that it has tried to compensate this. We assume that it something to do with the Metaverse itself. Measurements show that it is “extremely” young and still in a stat of creation and growth. And it appears to be some kind of unbalanced!”
“Unbalanced? What do you mean by this?” Exar asked
“A great question you asked, Exar Kuun. And assuming I am that the answer will be very interesting!” Yoda replied
“That’s what the geeks said: This universe is unbalanced. They did not give any reason o explanation for that!” Kalar said, once again making the windows shake.

Suddenly a small purple vortex appeared within the Council Chamber, a few seconds later a small girl stepped out, she was about 13 or 14 years old, but her eyes showed a wisdom not fitting to her age.
“She appears strong with the force” Arclite whispered to Yoda
“Right you are my friend, strong she is, but unsure I am if it’s the Force she is so strong with…” Yoda replied

“Chief, they are gone! The ships accelerated to about 50 percent light speed and jumped to hyperspace” she said in a mild voice.
“What, why are they gone? They are no longer on the sensors?” the Chief asked
“The Sensor officers are searching them… Wait Niara says they got them again, they are still moving with a relatively slow speed, only about ten thousand times light speed.”

“We should prepare, quickly!” Icho Tolot said.

By the look of it the Jedi Republic now has two things to do now.
First was to get the Fleet ready for combat, possibly on the borders.
And to warn the other Empires!

Interlude

Only a few hours later two dozen ships started form several spaceports on Coruscant, targeting the home worlds of the twenty five big empires, one of them was the Halut 1…
Again, as usual, Tolot was alone onboard of his 120m ship, unlike the other ships that were combat ships of the Republican fleet with the task to bring the ambassadors safely to the worlds of the big empires.
The Halut 1 moved faster then any of the other ships, that was nothing special, taking to credit that the Halutians have several centuries of technological lead, but this time it was different, the Spherical ship accelerated with more then 750 km per square second as he left Coruscants atmosphere and disappeared into Linear Space as he reached 50% light speed.
His first target was one of the “empty” sectors in the central Metaverse, before he’d move into the depth of the space of one of the most powerful empires of the Metaverse.
In the depth of the Jedi Council chambers, in one of the biggest rooms of the complex, on a man high table there laid a mysterious envelope, opened and a PDA. The display showed Tolots personal logo and a flashy ‘new Massage’ logo underneath it.
No one was around to see it, but the door was not shut.

What will happen to the Metaverse?
Where is Icho Tolot going?
What is the mysterious massage on his PDA?

arghhhh... I give up.... I think i'll just move starfleets msgs back here too... this sucks after such a long time of empires doing as they are supposed to according to the guidelines.. for it all to come apart now is ruddy ridiculous... Icho didn't you read the last 2 posts in here... ore did you do this on purpose... either way if this behavour keeps up I WILL bring Starfleets msgs back tro the MAin Galciv forum.. I'm not going to let empires get a free ride in the public view and keep starfleet in the back empire room... after all i do have a right to to get just as much attention and publicity as other empires... thats atleast 3 empires now that have had big exposure in the main Galciv Forum... its not fair to all of us other empires

Icho.. I forgive you this time... I suggest you post a link in here directing people to your new thread in the empiores forum.. this way people will know where to look for your latest efforts

Sorry i'm comming down so hard on things.. its just that i'm getting really annoyed that some people aren't sticking to the posting guidelines... and sdome empires arn't getting the same exposure to PEOPLE THAT DON'T GO INTO THE EMPIRES FORUM.. I've been good and stuck to the guidlines even though I disagreed with them at the time....(and still do)
and i'm also getting sick of copping flack for trying to point people to them ... If it keeps up then Starfleet WILL be prosting in the general forum reguardless of the general concensus...

sorry most of this reply isn't pointed at you icho.. just people in general who arn't following the guidelines.. at least 3 empires in the last month...(including a new one.. who discussed the start of a new empire who discussed it in here and not in the empires forum where the discussion really belonged...and thus giving their new empire a grandstand to all.. including those not interested in empires... which is why the empires forum was setup in the first place)
