A good friend of mine is a Roller Coaster Tycoon and Sims junkie. I've tried to talk to her about getting into GalCiv, but she keeps getting this glazed look in her eyes.

It takes more than simply being a PC geek to play GalCiv regularly, post on the boards, and get into empiring. It takes a special kind of insanity as well. A GOOD kind of insanity to be sure, but insanity nonetheless. Oh, and coffee - lots of coffee.

Or you can go down the other road, beer and wine. Honestly, though, I take the coffee route during the day and turn on the tap after 9 PM. But the special insanity does still apply at all times, I agree.

As for women and computer games, why try to reprogram them as a group if they are happy? And what if it isn't all software. Changing hardware is always more of a challenge. There are just some mysteries men are not meant to know, you know. ;)
