colonizing planets within system

in some instances there are more than one planet within a given system that can be colonized, how do you accomplish this?

If you have a right and left click mouse, you first bring the colony ship to the system with left click then when the ship is in the system left click on the desired planet. planets 14 quality or better should be colonized, if you go any lower you'll have a hard time establishing your colony. hope this helps :)

Build a whole colony ship to colonize a planet in star system you already own seems kind of wastefull to me... I think there should be an easier way to do it, perhaps some other ship without hyperdrive...

Agreed, unless you have the +5% PQ ability picked, in which case, PQ13s are fine to colonize.

What if you have the + 7% PQ ability? Can you take PQ12s ;D?

Hmm...why would 13s be good if you have PQ +5%?

I'm under the impression that a fully decked out PQ13 would have +25% PQ, making it 16.25, but would be under 15 until you built both PQ improvements, right?

So the only real way to colonize PQ13s would be if you have the cash to rush build the PQ improvements...or maybe I just have my standards too high :p

And PQ12s, btw, would reach PQ15 or PQ15.25 with PQ+5% or PQ+7% respectively, so very borderline there... :notsure:

Well. I guess relative to me, your standards are set too high =)

I just have the two PQ improvements first in the queue, and let them build normally. They're done when they're done.

You don't want sub-16 planets long-term, but if you have some for 10-20 turns, it's really not that big of a deal.

I suppose it's because when I get around to sub-15 worlds (which the AIs don't touch), the other worlds are fairly developed, and it ends up dragging down my morale or tax rate...

That hasn't been my experience at all. I set my tax rate to 35% on turn one and never touch it. As far as morale, if you colonize the 13-14s with 100-250M colonists, initial morale is not a problem either.

I do, however, colonize them quite early in the game, as soon as the 15+ are all taken. The earlier of a start you get on them, the better.

I tend to adjust my tax rates and spending every few turns...and I generally autolaunch ships too :notsure:

I suppose I just don't like having too many worlds at the beginning, heh...
