Cannot play saved game

I was on a business trip yesterday. So, I installed GC on my laptop for the day and started a game on the plane. Now I am back home and want to play the same game (saved it on the laptop and copied it over) on my home machine. Both machines have 1.05. I can restore the game with no problem. However, whenever I try to save the game on the home machine now (and I think autosave is having the same problem), it just closes entirely without saving and dumps me back out to windows.
This seems like it should be an easy thing, but I cannot get it to work.
Help.

I don't know if this helps, but it's possible that the crash is unrelated to copying. I've got 1.05 and there are still times that a game, for whatever reason, crashes. It doesn't matter whether I go back and use previous autosave, etc. Something in the game that was about to occur (an event? a tech discovery?) caused a crash and I usually just abandon that game and start a new one.

RoamDog: send me the save game and I'll see if I can figure out the problem.

I'll need both the .sav file and the corresponding folder.
