Go to wincustomize.com. You should see "Welcome Citizen David Smith" at the top of the screen. If not (your browser might not have cookies enabled or whatever), go ahead and log on.

Click on "Edit Account" in the navbar at the top of the screen. From the options, choose "Change Your NickName." This is the name that appears in the forums and on the Metaverse.

When you come back to galciv.com, you'll probably need to log out and then log back on (top right corner of the screen) to clear the old cookie and make sure that your new nickname is displayed.

When you post games, make sure to use your "Player Name" on the game submission screen - in your case, "David Smith" (WITH THE SPACE) - to make sure that they are correctly assigned to you. Good luck and good gaming.

LoL, actually I go both ways, whatever keeps the other civs off my back. and Ray this is the nick that I use in my other game that I love to play online. Yea Day of Defeat!

Also I've I wanted to adjust my name again would effect would it have on my submissions? Or is there an easy way to tell with it?

no effect just use Player name each time u post score. can change name as often as you like

Like if I were to change it from Dark Assassin would I have to type my new name into the Metaverse Submission Screen or would I use my old one?

Dark Assassin/Dark Lord/Just Plain Dark:

Your "Player Name" is your submission alias - in your case, "Dark Assassin." Your nickname shows up here, but it's just an ID tag.

This is the important part. Just keep submitting the same as always.

You need to go to www. wincustomize .com and login, just like you did to change your nick. When you click on Edit Account, you'll see an option called Upload / Edit your desktop image. The rest is pretty self explanatory. Make sure the picture you want to use isn't terribly large.

...and our secret is out. I was hoping to keep the numbers of picced profiles down but now everybody will have one

Oh well. While you're at it, if you only want the pic to show on your profile (as opposed to using it to show your desktop as it's meant to be used) be sure to resize it in a decent graphics program (something better than MSpaint!) to 300px wide before you upload it. That way it won't end up all pixely and distorted when WC makes the little picture (because it will already be the right size).
