I'd agree, it's kind of an odd poll question. I could have predicted the results on that one.

*shrug* It's a way to find out if there's other game developers etc among the forum members. I know of at least one non-Stardock game designer who hangs around here, there's bound to be more.

If E3 allows retailers, all you have to do is make upsome fake business cards showing you run a small software store. I did it twice to get into the mens Apparel Guild show in Las Vegas when I was between careers. Of course, if the E3 show is different from all the other industry conventions, I could be wrong.

The owner of a local computer/video games shop in my small town is going on over there this year, went last year, too. Long trip for him, about 1200 miles, but he really thinks it is worth it.

As for the true, sinister purpose behind the poll? Simple, it is two fold. One, find out how many Galciv players are into the computer industry in some way (or cover it), and two, to let us all know that the big guys are all gone right now "enjoying" their little vacation while we suffer! ;)

I'll go with it being an "odd" poll question, but I hardly think it's unfair. It's a simple request for information. Unfair might be something like, only the people who are going are allowed to answer the poll. It would be in line with asking the poll question, "Are you a game developer?"

Admittedly, the results will be somewhat predictable, given that attendance is occupationally limited.

anyone with a good business card can get in (if they want to spend the money.) Makes no fifference what occupation you are really in.

Well we better get busy then. Three more empires must pass Frogboy's. Knock his rump out of the top 10. Make him regret that lil vacation of his. Yea baby.

I wish I was going to e3, I have a REAL JOB! LOL
programming games, Really! (would be cool)

But the poll does not ask how many programmers there are ( I am one ) but unfortunitly I can't go to e3 >:(

If I went, I'd have to go heavily sedated. I wouldnt be able to stand seeing all the cool games and not being able to come home with them. Or almost as bad: knowing a particular game was still two years away from retail.

You grow tired of a booth babes in two days after you realize how dumb they are. A good game will keep your interest much longer.

This is a very untrue statement. All you need to do is create yourself a business card, send in your registration, pay the fee. I used to go too the CES (Consumer Electronics Show for those who do not know)using my own phoney business until I was representing a real one. This is the same thing with the E3 show. My son and his friends go every single year since it started. He never had his own business before, but he does now including his own website. Anyone can go to the E3 show if you really want too. There will be hopefully some live reports at his website www.ntsreviews.com for a little plug on his website. Sorry! Bottomline you can go if you really want too go. Go with 3-6 ppl and lower the costs of hotel room they jack the prices on them when E3 is in town and you need to call in advance way in advance if you expect to get a room. Well, I'd be remiss in not saying, the intellectual capacity of a "booth babe" is not what would be first and foremost on my mind. It would be more like, ahh, their game playing ability, yea, that's the ticket.... :)

Calm down, guys.

Physical passions are but momentary. Desires are distractions. Focus on what is lasting and not what is transient.

Ahem, sorry about that. If booth babes are your thing, go for it, just don't let them distract you from the products! ;)
