I don't think OD supports animated icons, unless they are actually animated docklets, and the images should be png, not gif.

I have been trying to use animated icons I have downloaded for object dock. The area I am downloading the icons from is in the object dock section of wincustomize. So then why wouldn't OD support animated icons? It is frustrating!! I get my icon displaying in slices too!! I have tried to "add new simple animation docklet" and then I right click on that icon to go the "dock entry properties" to choose a different image I have downloaded. I can get that to work but I can't get that image to work for any particular program. It's just an animated dead icon! Could someone please clarify this process for me??

do you have an animated docklet installed?
once installed...add it, the right click and configure shortcut.
take the path out and add the path you want (i just delete and copy/paste).
then set the image to the png you want to use. Since the frames are already set, if you create your own, i'm thinking the size and number of frames need to be the same as the original.
