Metaverse Ranks

I know there currently isn't much excitement about these ranks but I thought some people might want to know. Dug up the criteria of earlier ranks from some old post. CPT to CMDRE are my guesses.

ENSIGN
Games>=1 and Score>0

2LT
Games>=3

LT
Games>=5 or Games>=1 and Score >2,000

COMMANDER
Games>=5 or Games>=3 and Score >2,500

CAPTAIN
Games>=10 and Score >5,000

FLEET CAPTAIN
Games>=10 and Score >10,000

COMMODORE
Games>=20 and Score >20,000

Don't think Rear Admiral and above have been coded yet.

Has anyone noticed the discrepency between player scores as listed in the Empire Lists and personal profile in comparison to the Metaverse listing? Not that its an issue but why is it so I ponder . . . I koknokno?

I might as well follow up with my suggestions for the later ranks.

REAR ADMIRAL
Games>=25 and Score>=50,000

VICE ADMIRAL
Games>=50 and Score>=100,000

ADMIRAL
Games>=75 and Score>=250,000

FLEET ADMIRAL
Games>=100 and Score>=500,000

Metaverse list degrades old scores by 5%/mth. Player profile degrade old scores by 10%/mth.

Hmm, if I follow the code format given for the earlier ranks, my suggestions would be coded as such:



if nTotalGames >= 25 and nOverAllScore > 50000 then
nNewRankID = 8
end if
if nTotalGames >= 50 and nOverAllScore > 100000 then
nNewRankID = 9
end if
if nTotalGames >= 75 and nOverAllScore > 250000 then
nNewRankID = 10
end if
if nTotalGames >= 100 and nOverAllScore > 500000 then
nNewRankID = 11
end if

Here's what I would have if I was in charge... of everything!

(we currently get a service stripe with 25 games)

REAR ADMIRAL
Games>=30 and Score>=60,000

(we currently get a service stripe with 35 games)

VICE ADMIRAL
Games>=50 and Score>=120,000

ADMIRAL
Games>=75 and Score>=250,000

FLEET ADMIRAL
Games>=100 and Score>=500,000

I believe that there should only be 1 top ranked player as MeatVerse ADMIRAL .. and that being the player with the highest number of games played.. and if 2 or more players have played the same number of games then it should go based on those players average score to see who is top ranked dog in the metaverse

hmmm... guess your right... but I still think that there should be only one top ranked dog in the metaverse... otherwise we'll end up with too many chiefs and not enough indians... if you know what i mean....

I'd also like to see a ranking system within the individual empires.. and more stats available for the emperor/senatos of that empire... eg: being able to do searches withing their ampire to see the most active players in the forums .. most improved.. most games played in blocks... a way that the emperor can contact their members privatly... etc.....

How about these requirements:

1) Nick must have "Steel" in it.

2) Nick must begin with "Blue".

3) First overlord to obtain these requirements retains this rank.

or...

1) Nick must have "Chua" or "Wanderer" in it.

2) Nick must begin with "Ray".

3) Overlord must have laughing toes.

Everyone must refer to the Metaverse Admiral by name of "Most Rank Dog!"

Ray,

Guess this isn't too acurate. You've got 55 games under your belt and over 100k points. Don't see the Vice Admiral badge on ya. :notsure:

You are the top player in the Metaverse (at least currently). You'd think you'd be something higher than Commodore.

Those are ranks above Commodore are all my suggestions for SD. Those ranks are not implemented yet and we have no idea what kind of criteria SD is going to choose.

That's why I've made those suggestions and even tried to write the code. I think SD should get the hint by now. LOL

From Fellowship space, an encrypted message goes out directed to Stardock. The message is addressed to Brad Frogboy, and is short and repeats.

"Need higher ranks...Need higher ranks..."

Though the encryption is simple, Stardock cannot decode it.

Theoden finally breaks down and pulls out the HAM radio.

"Middle Earth to Stardock. Come in Stardock" says Theoden

"Stardock, please respond!"

"...we hear you, Middle Earth. What seems to be the problem?"

"We have a player in first place which needs a higher rank than Commodore. Can you assist?"

Aha! Just as we had guessed. The pirates were behind this!

Nah, we wouldn't jam those signals. If you haven't noticed, there is a red tide washing ashore at the top of the charts. Who knows how many worthy ones in the top ranks have been denied their true reward.

You might want to look at vraylle and npb_equalizer - they meet this criteria, but are still Fleet Captains. Perhaps average score, or the player's "best" score may come into it somewhere.

Good catch, Alex.

Looking at the fact that they are both just over the 20k mark, my guess is that the ranks are based on the player profile scores (they both still have <20k in their player profiles) rather than the Metaverse listing scores.

You might also want to look at "gas STAR" and "black smoke" at positions 151 and 160 on the board...

gas STAR seems right to me. He is one game short of getting promoted out of his commander rank.

yeap, black smoke doesn't fit my criteria. But I do recall he was having some problems with the Metaverse submissions.

One thing I've noticed is that you don't get demoted if you drop below the criteria for whatever reason.

Same with medals and stripes except for the Top 1,2,3 and 25.
