Quick Question About Mods Please

The Mods Forum looks like no one really goes there so I thought I could ask a quick question here. Is there a reason why the Tech Mods do not show up in the Tech Tree viewer? Is this a known issue or did I do something wrong? I used the cheat code in a new game and the techs come up, and if you select the tech before it shows the tech I want here (under future items) but when I right click on it and the tech tree viewer shows up it is not listed under a tech that is uncovered. Again thanks for answering, I'm just curious if I did something wrong or if this is a known issue. I am playing the latest Beta.

I think that you did something wrong, because when you create tech mods they will show in the tech tree, usually it is good to start a new game after you have created or downloaded any of the mods, because usually they don't show if you have a game already running. you can visit our website at http://www.cdgroup.org/forums/tbs/gc/ and you will be able to find a lot of extra mods that are not poste here in Galciv and also answer to any question you may have about moding, also when you create a new tech you should have it connected to other on the tree that way it has an order of when to appear.

It appears there's a bug with the in-game Tech Tree Viewer at this time. It's been mentioned several times in the Beta Bug report thread. No techs, not even the new X-Pack techs, show in the Tech Tree Viewer unless they are in the GCTech.tech file.

Sit tight, I'm sure Stardock will fix it soon.

Hmm that's strange, I use GC writer and place all moded tech into my own tech_plus file and they all show in tech tree and archieves.

thanks for the replies. I have them installed and am now waiting for it to be fixed as far as the tech tree viewer goes.

I'm using the latest beta.. and have not seen any probs like that... but then abain.. i have never had that much money :(

They do appear in the tech viewer under certain conditions. It's a bug in the tech navigator code.

The navigator will open to any tech and display it's details correctly, and will display prerequisite techs correctly sometimes, but never lists postrequisite techs unless they are in GCTech.TECH.
