Never Ending Wars?

I'm playing a game in a large universe, with the difficulty not set very hard. Early in the game, the Torians and Altarians formed an alliance and attacked the Dregnin. This suited me fine. But, as it became clear the Dregnin were losing, they attempted many times to end the war. However, they would only make peace with one or the other of the 2 allies, and as a result, the race they made peace with would be back at war with them in a turn or two.

Does the AI not really know how to get out of a war with an alliance? This non-stop war between the remaining major races (the Yor were creamed early on), has made the game seem almost unfairly easy for me.

While it might seem easy to you, you do want their attention focused on each other or buying tech from you while going broke in the process. If you get their attention, they'll come after you and no more cakewalk for you. From what I've read here in the forums is that many people will use a trade good to get the AIs(majors) to battle each other when they become too strong. Not a bad idea really, especially if you're way behind.
Of course as you go up levels in difficulty you'll find things become harder for you to keep their attention focused on each other and not you.
Sincerely
