Help with a bug???

I have never seen this. Is this a MOD pack event?

It happens occasionally. It's not a mod or a bug.

If you are more technologically advanced than the _____ (it can be any of the AIs), the minor won't show having anything to trade. And even though it says they specifically want planets, they will trade for anything.

Thanks for your help. I tried to trade some of my planets for the technology but they refused(the Alexians) so still I don't know what good does to have an event? like this one popping in your screen.

Did you build diplomatic translator? What I usually do when that event happens is that I send one of my finest fleet to one of the finest planet I have(except sola system), then I trade that planet with Alexians(it has to be one planet in one secter) with all the tech they've got then next turn occupy that planet(I will be losing lots of population but if alexians got way too much tech than I am then it is worth it). After that, invade Alexians' home land. They will be occupied by other main aliens anyway.

The times this event had happened to me has been very early in the game, I will say less than 60 turns, and I don't have a strong army yet.

One thing I notice do, it is that usually happens when other AI have already battleship technology and I don't have it yet.

I've had this happen too (a LOT): Working closely with MY spies Alexians or I-League (or whatever minor race) manages to steal all tech of a major race. Then they refuse to trade the techs for ANY price. This has happened to me at ANY stage in the game.

All techs may have different purposes but each has a "counterpart" in any field/level. Say, Battleship and Star Democracy are in different fields but at the same general level of research. On many occasions I have offered a minor races every single tech I had, including many of the same level as the tech they stole and I wanted to get, PLUS a decent planet and they still refused. Oh, and my diplomatic abilities in my games are always extremely high.

I say IT IS A BAD, BAD BUG (no, a design FLAW), just like many other stupid bugs/flaws in this game. What B U G S me is that they stole the tech "working closely with OUR spies". Shouldn't we share the techs acquired 50/50? Why the hell do THEY get ALL and want some insane things in exchange??

Well I tried to trade all my planets for 1 planet and they wouldn't take it. And My population for all the planets was on the order of 300B at the time. I wasn't going to actually do it, was just curious. But I have gotten as many as 3 planets for techs before.

I don't know what is happening with that particular event, but it has never work for me, maybe is something similar to that other resource, the life force thing that was cancelled, maybe is similar to that one.
