Icon spacing

How can I increase the spacing between icons in the dock? Right now they right up against each other and I would like some spacing.

Bash103,

The only way I know of is to increase the "Icon Size" in the "size & appearance" section of the dock configuration dialog.

If it is a tabbed dock, you can have the "entry names" "show below each entry" found in same "size & appearance" section of a tabbed dock config. dialog, which will increase the spacing, but will also place text below each icon.

Other than those 2 ideas, you would have to mess with the PNG size and increase the distance between the icon image and the transparent edge outside of image (not really a good option).

You can add a seperator between each icon and just set the background to be transparent.

I suppose I should be more specific. Move your cursor between two of the icons and right click, just as if you were going to add another shortcut. Click on "Add" and then "new seperator" Ok now there is a space or maybe a bar between the icons. You can drag and drop that seperator anywhere in your dock, and you can do it as many times as you want. Now go into your settings for that dock and under appearance, move the slider all the way over to transparent, that is, if you don't want to see the bar/ seperator. Hope it helps.

While not affiliated with the gent who started this thread i am having the same problem. The icons are just too close together for me. i like a little extra room. i tried the steps listed in #3 above. But when i right-click i only get the following items to add:
Shortcut
Clock
Recycle Bin
Flyout Menu
Quick Doc Entry
Configure Doc Entry
Start Menu Entry

Obviously i am missing something. i am using Pro v 1.1. Any help will be appreciated.

Appears to only work with non-tabbed docks

Try right clicking where there is a seperator. It worked for me.

Simple fact is, it would be nice to control the spacing between icons. Any chance the authors of object dock could put that on the list of features to be added to future versions? Please? Pretty please?
