In appreciation of the people here who put a lot of time and effort and not an inconsiderable amount of talent into story writing, helping other people etc, I would like to open this as a forum for nominating those Citizen for Veteranship.

I obviously do not go through all the threads, but am always amazed at the contributions people make. It's been talked about a bit in other threads, so here are my nominations with an obvious bias.

Theodan of Rohan

Evil Steve

Let me get this straight. I can now be demolished by Ray and Staffa in PERSON. And I'm to PAY for this, am I?

If this is actually in the works, somebody at Stardock is gonna have to do two different graphics for the Diplomacy screens - Evil Ray and Good Ray. Evil Ray would make the Drengin look like Wisconsin deer hunters. Good Ray would smile the kindly-ol'-wizard smile while culture-bombing you into oblivion - "converting" your citizens to the Way of the Fellowship.

Brad, I think I might be willing to pay $25 just to AVOID this!!!! :D

P.S. Random event. The Fellowship minor race is split as Evil Ray and Good Ray finally and completely become two separate people...

Seriously, SD shouldn't find it difficult to get AIs to emulate player party/racial picks and tech research paths. They also know from our submitted games our social improvement build lists and the type of ships we build.

What's probably requires more coding is for the AIs to emulate our tactical moves on the main map such as culture bombing, alpha strikes, etc.

Let's see....

Ray AI
Plots your defeat even while your computer is turned off. This AI penalizes you for not playing continually. Each time you close the game or even shut down the computer, the Ray AI runs through each of your saved games and tests out the perfect adaptive strategy to beat you just as an experiment. If you play the Ray AI, make sure you finish the game in one sitting. Otherwise you'll load saved games only to find that the Ray AI has already finished a game or two while your were at work / asleep...

Staffa AI
The Staffa AI is more straight forward, but less polite. It analyzes and exploits your weaknesses and then posts:
'I can beat CypherPax in my sleep.' in the forum.
The AI proceeds to list all the things you did wrong in the game. When you correct them, it replies with a new list of mistakes it noticed in your play. Stardock will occassionally accuse the Staffa AI of cheating and make the game harder to compensate. Every player not named 'Ray' will be unhappy with the changes...

I'm with Obi Wan on this one. ;)

Y'all realize that if Ray was an empire - that's JUST Ray - he'd be in the Top 10 on the Empire leaderboard? How does this qualify as a MINOR race!?! :D

you become a member of "the galactic council" enabeling you to access a new forum.. The main thing is that (to me anyway) its recognition from the staff of Stardock that you have contributed to the Metaverse above the call of duty) there are even higher promotions .. like Ray is an administrater.. I don't know what the other promotions get extra though apart from higher recognition for yourb contributions to the Metaverse..

also I don't know what I did to get the promotion.. no one knows.. its up to the disgression of the powerfull gods at Stardock

By the way, don't think that the Galactic Council is a big deal. It gets one post every week or so. (Although with the new Xpack we've seen a flood of posts, one every day or so.)

Wow! Then I'm very surprised I got elevated. Maybe my sometimes bug reporting did it for me then? I often have a sharp and acid tongue in text, so that wasn't it. Just proves those Star Dockians are crazy. Nice, but crazy. :D

Ah, quit yer whinin', wimp! :)

If whining yields results, then perhaps it is time for ME to act a bit odd to make a point: Hey, I have been a vet for over 4 months now! Why am I not a diplomat? After all the effort I put into this forum, (almost all of it after the promotion, btw) what did I get for it? >:(

Now, that wasn't too pretty, was it? Moral of the story: stop whining about forum ranks. Some folks get them, some don't. It is not our call.

Hey you, you already are a veteran, so quit whining about not being a Diplomat, at least you are someone already LOL LOL . We the casted out ones we have to complain and whine about this discriminatory/liberal/democratic way of electing people to become veterans, so if you don't like it, go an appeal to the Supreme Court, I have the God giving right to whine, complain, cry, yell or shout about my rights of being elected for Veteran. And it that doesnot fit your agenda you can take it to the United Nations. ;) So now that this issue about the right of whining is out of the agenda, can you please tell me how I can become a Veteran, money I don't have, brown nose I don't do, votes I got only my own. So those are my qualifications, take it of leave it. :notsure: >:( :(
