Yes, it's the known invisible ship bug. Do a save, quit and reload. It should do the trick.

You get ranks and medals through posting your games on the Metaverse. I see you have already registered. When you complete your games, you will see a submission screen which allows you to submit your game score. Key Morbutor in the alias field and your email and you should see your scores posted onto the Metaverse.

Interesting question, Morbutor. If you asking if we are a good or evil empire, I would say neither.
I personally don't believe in restricting members towards any game alignment.

Rather than alignment, the Fellowship's objectives are focused towards contributing to the game and forum, strategy and fantasy role-play. Lurk around our empire thread (and other empire threads) to see for yourself.

Trust me you'll find events in the game that you will drool over and it'll will turn you evil. There is nothing wrong with that, even goodie Ray has played some evil games.

The only requirement for our empire is that you are and stay evil.

The lure of evil is strong, don't fight it.

since i am responsible for the people i rule, i will never play an evil empire -- not even once to see the events and techs
that might seem idiotic, but i cannot work against my people. i simply cannot let them down.
and i cannot work with people that do. sounds like im a self-righteous zealot. cant help it.

Empires are fun. They give you a chance to regularly interact with a group of friends/comrades for game support, fan fiction, and other activities. You don't NEED to join one to post, but at least you might get fewer recruitment pitches...
