I read this on the expansion details screen:
+ Starbases now cost 10 to maintain.
Even with a fully buffed SB, I'm not getting 10 in trade out of these? Am I doing something wrong? Now granted I have in the past gone with short routes(1 sector) and placed all 10 of my routes to the same AI. That way I could place 20-30 SBs in the sector maxing out trade income. But my average route provides 40-60 bcs/turn and I end up getting only 1-2 bcs/trade improvement. Does the 10bc maintenance cost then put my strategy out of business?
