BUG: Auto-Pilot Sticks w/ Grouped Ships (1.10A)

This bug has existed since near 1.0. I create a stacked group. Click on another single ship not on the same square. Set it for auto-pilot. The stacked group takes the auto-pilot orders.

My recollection is that this happens sometimes after moving a stacked group and then selecting a standalone ship and try to set it for auto-pilot.

That's not a bug. That's an expectation problem.

You want to give orders to a particular ship in a fleet, first (U)nfleet it, then give it its order. Right now, the game makes it easy to give the fleet order. Changing it would cause mix ups where the whole fleet didn't get the orders when you wanted it to. Just which one would everyone prefer to be easier... giving orders to a single ship in the fleet, or giving orders to the fleet itself?

Just remember... (U)nfleet it first, then give it its orders.

You misunderstand. Note I said:

"Click on another single ship not in the same square [as the fleet]."

To reiterate, I'm not ordering a unit in the group to move, but rather an ungrouped ship in another part of the galaxy.

OH! I see. My apologies.

That is very aggravating how the game will take that click, and skip you back to another ship/stack because the ship (or starbase) you are clicking on "has already moved". That causes you to give something the wrong order. But I am unsure how to correct that, OTHER then have the game properly "CENTER" the main view on the new ship/stack with focus.

But sometimes, it is just so insistant!
