No images for certain ships

Is this a bug or is there something I need to do in order for ship images to show up in the game. The combat transport, Ranger, Phoenix, battleship are the ones i can remember that dont have any images..when selected to build the ship and no image on the universe screen.

This is a known invisible ship bug which is still not fixed. Do a save and reload and the graphics should return.

it was actually kinda cool, i thought at first that cloaking code was accidently activated.

This usually happend to me when I alt-tab in and out of the game several times. Like Ray said, save and reload and things should be back to normal.

AFAIK, cloaking is just a filler tech and doesn't have any actual affect in the game besides giving you Phoenixes... And if it did have the effect of making ships invisible to YOU and it was not a bug then that would still not be a good thing since you'd be unable to click on them ;)

when i was playing i could "see" the ship firing at my ships and by either going to the last spot or running some patrols around, i could click on a "blank" spot and get my ships to attack.

i didn't realize i had to quit and reload, so eventually i set up some obsolete corvettes as a screen and to do patrols. otherwise the "invisible" ships could sneak right up to my planet and attack without me noticing. definitely interesting, might even be the way to implement it in the game in the future.
