solution for Metaverse!!

Why not have a different ranking list for each difficulty level. That way it doesn't matter whether you are new to the game or a seasoned veteran.

I think that some new players are king of scared away from ever submitting a game to the metaverse because they see how far behind some players they are.

If they had a separate ranking on the lower difficulty levels it would give them a place to go where they would be competetive.

If player A is better than player B, player A will be able to get higher scores than player B if both play at the same difficulty level.

So instead of the "Super Bowl" we could have the "Toilet Bowl"? LOL

I am not saying that you still wouldn't have one player better than another, I am saying that the guy just taking this game out of the box is much more likely to submit his score if he feels he has a chance of being ranked. It is highly unlikely that a brand new player can compete on maso difficulty.

My point was, if there was a seperate ranking for each difficulty level, what's to stop an expert player from submitting cakewalk games?

You got me. I hadn't thought of that. I would guess the only thing to stop that from happening would be the boredom of playing a cakewalk game when you are used to playing a much higher level of difficulty.

I guess it is better to leave things the way they are.

Damn....I wanted to compete in the Toilet Bowl :(

Yeah, I know, but the dream is over.

If a high level player comes in that screws all the low level players just starting and you have the same problem as we do now with the current set up.

well if its a high level player, i bet there gonna play on the higher difficulties most of the time (maybe an easy game here or there). There will still be those who submit a whole lot of games at low difficutlies which can scare off the newer players, but your going to have that with any game that has a scoring system.

True, I just think that there would be more metaverse participation if there were other ranking options depending on you difficulty level.

Oh well, it was just a thought.

This has been/will be the great debate. There's always going to be ppl who are not happy because they perceive they can't be #1 or in the Top 25. It's human nature that everybody is competitive.

As I've stressed many times, play the game to the difficulty level you are most comfortable with. Play the game to have fun, submit your scores to the Metaverse, empire if you feel like it, and if you need to compete with someone else, think small. In other words, take pride if you are ranked 50th and overtake someone for 45th. There's no shame in being Top 50 or Top 100. As a matter of fact, I believe with this new scoring madness, there should be more emphasis put on the Top 50 and Top 100. It's not that easy anymore to stay in the Top 50, and it's going to get harder with everybody playing Maso and Crippling.

But any way you look at it, play the game and have fun. Let the Maso players slug it out at the top. Nobody looks down on anybody for playing the game they want to play.

The way to stop that is once you score so many points on one level you are moved up a rank.So if you beat cakewalk ten tmes with scores of say 20k or better you can no longer submit to that level. You have been promoted up the ladder to simple. As you move up a rank to simple then it takes 15 games at 25k points to be promoted to next level.Eventually everyone will get to normal(or another level set by developers) which then the metaverse would return to normal and any game(above simple or set level) will count towards score.Look at sports.Do you think amatuer events will let pro players register ?Of course not. This would help new players learn to play and compete and once comfortable and more confident they would probably try to make their way to the top.It would be something similar to a handicap.

Yes, Eradicus has a good idea here. I would vote for that. We do get to vote, don't we? ;)

Another way to go is to group players based on the number of games submitted. The reason new players are behind isn't so much the skill level they are playing at, but how far behind they are in submitting. It doesn't matter how good you are, if the marathon started an hour ago and a bunch of runners are 10 miles ahead of you, what chance have you got?

It is a good idea to have a system where once you submit so many games or get a certain metaverse, it takes you to next difficulty level.

This would curb the interest of high level players coming back to easy difficulty as they could not stay there for long.

I think this is something to be considered.
