Ship strenght order?

Im not too experienced in this game yet, i still havent been able to research all of the techs yet, so naturally, i only been able to build and try out a small portion of the ships available. can someone post an ordered list of what ships are the best, right down to the worst ships?

Not in order but the ones lower down in the list are further along in the tech tree.

BattleCruiser
BattleHammer
Frigrate
Battleship
Dreadnaught
Ranger
Avatar
Excaliber
Overlord

Can not remember if the last Capital ship is Excaliber or Overlord.

Overlord is strong but costly.

Excalibur's last, and it takes some pretty extreme technology to get there. With 80/20/10 base attack/def/speed, it's a VERY powerful ship class.
