In version 1.1,there ARE new techs coming frome corvette tech, but they don't appear on the map.

Thanks. I nevr researched Corvettes, because it was a dead end. I always went straight for Frigates.

Yeah, they are basically techs that increase your weapons capabilities.

The extra +50% is certainly a very nice bonus. (5 +10 techs.)

I first noticed them because some of the other races developed them. "Splash Damage? What the heck is THAT?"

I've also noticed that the AI seems to value these new techs quite highly. You can make a lot of money selling them Disruptors.
