To more properly reflect the growth of the Republic (and give me an excuse to create a couple of more holidays), the Republic of Aldar will be renamed the Aldarian Empire on January first. The following holidays will be added: Empire's Eve and Empire Day.
Here is the official holiday list:
April 7 – Aldarian New Year’s. This date celebrates the date that the Kingdom of Aldar was created. This is a very solemn date for Aldarians and is marked by quiet reflection. Kidding. It is celebrated by drinking heavily and behaving badly.
October 31 - Republic Day. Commemorates the date the Aldarians converted their government from a Kingdom to a Republic. This holiday is celebrated by wearing disguises, drinking heavily, and behaving badly.
November 13 - Nerrix Day. A very scary holiday that is celebrated by drinking heavily and behaving badly
December 6 - Blizzard Day. Celebrated by shoveling, drinking heavily, sitting in hot tubs, and behaving badly.
December 7 - Magnum Force Day. Celebrate as per usual
December 31 – Empire’s Eve. Wearing odd hats, kissing total strangers, drinking heavily, and behaving very badly are the hallmarks of this holiday.
January 1 – Empire Day. A day of rest and recovery (see Empire’s Eve) to celebrate the date the Aldarians tossed aside the Republic as a form of government and became the Aldarian Empire.
February 28 - Aldarian Presentation Day. Celebrated by wearing big red capes and false white beards, yelling ho-ho-ho and giving gifts, preferably alcoholic ones. Oh yes, and drinking heavily and behaving badly. [Space Napoleon]
April 6 - Aldar’s Eve. Celebrated by drinking heavily and behaving badly… [tgrz]
