The first cut...

is always the deepest.

Oh my gosh…..

I just heard this song on the radio that absolutely made me cry.

“The first cut is the deepest” by Sheryl Crow (or someone like that, can’t remember.)

When me and Brandon really started to get to know each other a long time ago, this was the song that really reminded me of him. Not that I ever liked him “romanticly” like that…. But because I felt I could really talk to him. He belived in me…. And that is why this song is very emotional.

It just came on the radio and I thought I would just note it

I've never heard that...I should look for it. If I was able to cry it would be with the song "On Fire"(Switchfoot)...that is a sweet song...

Woah. Which Brandon are you talking about here? That's weird that you have a song that reminds you of a Brandon. Again, not jumping the gun here.

First--I commend you for writing about something different--Trina summed it up quite nicely in your other blog--but I really think you guys all need to think twice about airing your dirty laundry in public. It's not placing any of you in a good light!

But back to the song--it was orginally written by Cat Stevens and recorded by Rod Stewart before Sheryl Crow remade it in 2004. It definitely is about a romance and how hard it is to get over your first broken heart and how that first love will always have a piece of your heart. "I would have given you all of my heart, but there's someone who's torn it apart... when it comes to being loved, she's first."

It's interesting the memory/song associations that we have. There are definitely songs that take me back to certain places--Brown Eye Girl takes me straight to my junior prom, Robbie William's Angel reminds me of roadtripping in Wales, Independent Woman reminds me of a particular guy friend--some make sense, some don't...but its a cool form of nostalgia nonetheless.
