Does anybody know the reaql deal with BeOS?

Is it gone or is it owned by someone else? I read on one site that is was sold to a Palm but on another site it is claiming that it will be the 'Media OS' with native handling of digital media.

Oh and does anyone know if another OS is coming out or being worked on at this moment?
