BootSkins.. Install

I've looked all over the forums for a forum made for Bootskins, didn't fine one soo will post here

I downloaded the program, installed, downloaded a skin, extracted, located it with the program, but it doesn't work? what do i have to do?

i mean, it doesn't load into the program? like i'll open the folder the stuff "SHOULD" be in, but there is notting there, everytime, soo i can't load it into the program

can some one help i downloaded the bs and put it into program files/stardock etc and when i restart the computer the nomal xp bs comes up up ??????????????

sorry, for not getting back sooner..
hmm.. try opening the .bootskin file in winzip (all bootskin submissions are just a zip file renamed), then extract it into a directory under bootskin/skins.
it could be that its actually extracting it to a sub folder, but bootskin only looks at the directory just under the skins directory (if that makes sense)

thats the thing, when i download, there is no ".bootskin" file, there is .bmp and .in

just a .bmp and .ini?
well.. thats a bit dodgey.. i always thought submissions had to be a .bootskin (and inside the .bootskin is at least one bmp and the ini file)
what you can do is then, create a directory in the bootskin/skins directory (whatever you want it to, doesnt really matter) and move the bmp and ini file into it. bootskin should pick it up..

ok, soo i install the windows lighting one right, made the folder, put the shit in it like you said, then i restart my computer after i install it right, well it comes too the screen soo i think it's working, but then the OS doesn't load then it restarts, and says there was an error or some shit, soo i had too pick a time my shit did work or w/e? whats up with that

...okay.. it sounds like it didnt work & theres something up with it.. what bootskin is it?
maybe you should look for another bootskin??

EDIT: um.. have you actually tried going to "File > Import from file..." in bootskin?

nope... caue it won't extract it for me.. lol and my winace is fucked up, in a way
