Anyone else have this happen?

Ok, so im in my first gigantic/maso game. I have about 80% military conquest, but the worlds i dont have are scattered and it will take me a good two hours to get them all. Then all of a sudden, the fundamentalists appear and steal all the AIs remaining worlds, and i win. No mop up required for me, as the fundamentalists end up stealing 15-20 systems from the 2 remaining AI's. Now i was very happy about this, and seeing my score go up a good 40k on the metaverse made it even better. Anyone else have a similar experience?? LOL

Kinda but not if you know what I mean. I ussualy take wicked colinizations options then peg it back to good from thier, the same event of which you speak gave me an instant loss a couple games ago, every system I had defected (over a dozen) had to laugh . . . served me right (1 hours work down the drain) . . . lol LOL

That happened in my last game, the Dregnin's remaining five worlds went to the Fundamentalists. I was only about ten minutes from victory anyway though.

I've been there from both sides. Sometimes I'll be close to winning and half my worlds defect. Other times, I'll get hit lightly by it, but the drengin and yor are totally wiped out.

Happened in game I'm playing now but very early on and it also sent me to war with the Drengin with no fleet!
I was amassing couple transports in one sector to get my worlds back and the Drengies didn't like that. They thought I was building up because they built a hop world in one of my sectors with 3 star systems of mine and one defected to fundies. So now out of 4 colonized stars 2 were mine ,one fundiies, and one drengin.

It's just a rare event. 20 games is probably unusual but not an outrageous length of time to go without seeing them.

Rare? It happens to me every couple of games. Probably just cause i'm evil and people don't like me. :p

Essex
If I play as good I never see them. When I play as evil I see them every couple of games. They are against all things evil and usually take couple planets from all evil races.

well, it has happened to me in three of my last 4 gigantic maso games. I play good and have all the AI's pure evil. Of course I am really slow, so 4 games takes me hours and hours and hours hehe

I think morale affects which planets defect. So if you're evil and have high morale, you won't lost many planets to the fundamentalists. I think you need 100% to be perfectly asfe.
