you: "You know that video game that sucks up all the free time that I should be spending with you?  Well, on the website, there is this chic on the messageboard named "KarmaGirl" and I'm sending her chocolate......honey, why are you hitting me with a frying pan?"

Back in the OS/2 days (yeah, I've been here that long) there was this guy who was in school over in Germany and I helped him get his software through customs without having to pay a ton of money.  He was so happy that he sent me German chocolates.  I don't remember the name of them, but they were really shots of alcohol disguised as chocolate.  Anyway, they came with a note that said that I should come to Germany and he'd "show me some sights".  I wish he would send more of those chocolates....

I'm pretty sure that it was "burk" of some sort, but I don't remember the "code" behind it. (Obviously arobertson knows but he will taunt us with his superior knowledge of the puke icon...:notsure:)

Well I'm Glad some of you got a laugh out of all this.. the guy was in trouble.. and for those of us who tried to help , I for one have lost a lot of my hair pulling it out, Got a giant headache and a cracked computer desk from bashing the desk with my head with frustration, and all for what... nothing.. nada... just others laughing about it all.. I know it looks funny watching from the sidelines.. but it isn't really.. (kinda reminds me of the skit "The Internet Help Desk".. funny to watch but very realistic.. I know .. I've been on an internet help desk..)

Oh, and BlueSteel - I used to do a bit of tech support years ago as well. I know I shouldn't laugh at the things people get up to, but if I din't laugh occasionally when I did that job, I'd have lost all my hair by now.

hehe...not even close.  Matter of fact, if I didn't have it in my list of smileys, I'd probably get it wrong 90% of the time.  It's a big long word that makes no sense at all.... (And, I'm not telling you want it is, either.... !!karmakamelion!!)

I can relate to that one.  If you don't have a little giggle once in awhile at people who don't read the documentation, then sooner or later you'll go postal. I avoid pulling my hair out by wearing wigs.  (j/k....or am I?)  Plus, when you come on a company site and start multiple threads bashing on the company that owns the site, you kinda' have to expect that people are going to chuckle when they find out what really happened.  I'm not saying that it is nice to laugh at people, but this whole situation could have been presented in a much different way and still have been resolved. 

Alex, since you and chocolate don't agree, send all that you find to me.  I'll save you from the effects that it has on you LOL

I work in an ITC dept. I regularly deal with those who are pretty much computer illiterate. However, if they are nice to me, then I love helping them. If they are not, well.., they get referred to my boss

Good for you, give to the boss those one that are impossible to deal with, anyways he is the one making the big bucks ain't he? :VOMIT:

Always it is good to help those in need, sometimes the worst ones are the easiest to deal with, many people just want someone to listen to them.
