The Wanderer
Kind of based on Rurouni Kenshin...okay, actually a lot. The character makes a good poem, what can I say?

Traveling to and fro,
Where no man dares tread,
This one goes,
For the world regards him as no one.
Only a sword he keeps at his side,
Not for killing but for protection,
Alone,
Always alone.
Fighting when needed, but always moving.
Trying to find purpose this one is,
A past not to be proud of.
Looking for reasons to his existence,
Unlocking secrets to himself.
Strength dwells within,
But no eagerness to prove it.
Humble and careful,
Though not afraid to ensure justice.
A hero among commoners,
A saint among demons.
Only honor and wisdom travel at his side,
No foolishness or pettiness that drag him down.
Repenting for wrongs long past,
Defending the weak,
Truly a good soul in his own right,
But pain deep inside,
Guilt for those whose lives were taken by him.
Penance in life still drives him,
Through trials and tribulations.
The Wanderer teaches a lesson,
One that should be taken to heart,
Repent for your sins,
Do not let them defeat you.
In life you may do much good,
You can counter the evils of others and yourself,
Do not end your life while so much good can come from your efforts,
For in death your mistakes take their toll and you are helpless to change them.

(Ok, that was definately a Kenshin inspired poem...but if you've never seen that show don't worry about it
