Being Redundant...
from
Stardock Forums
I saw a few threads spread out asking me a few questions, and I usually lack the motivation to go through every one and answer them (maybe I should have the "I'm a busy man" attitude, lol).
To clear things up, no, I won't be playing GalCiv anytime soon, I just simply have no plans to. Perhaps it's pride after the fall of the GCCG. I guess I had to be the martyr(sp?) there. However, someone had pointed out to me in IRC chat that I somehow created some 'legacy' and people seem to be developing similar strategies for maso games.
Yes, it does seem to be the masoverse, I see that term being thrown around a lot, and that's what I believe. I still was right that quantity could beat quality and that it was possible to achive #1 with it (though I never made it there, but I was so close). The GCCG will be down, possibly forever. Even if it was put back up, it would seem to be a bit outdated, and in order for me to 'update' it, that would mean that I'd have to play GalCiv, which brings me back to the fact that it isin't gonna happen. My apologies if it does upset anyone, but I feel that I no longer need to intervene. HOWEVER (by demand), it still maybe possible that I will post it back up, along with some nice refined cranking strategies that ppl have done. I might get the site back up and running, but the theme will change, and GalCiv will be just another section there.
I do appreciate all of the support that a lot of you all have given me, and I wish that I was able to talk to you all that did support me here and in the GCCG war, and even for those that had some admiration for what I tried to do. I can say that in my years of gaming, and online, that this is absolutley the best community that I have ever been with. Even with all the empire stuff going on, I still see people helpin each other out, no matter who or what they are affiliated with. Rarley do I even see people flame here in the community. I also wanted to extend my thanks out to those who have helped me, and even the devs. It's all of you guys that run this place. In my book, everyone that gives half a crap to be considerate and helpful, deserves to be #1.
Thanks again guys (and gals)
Currently I am playing MOO3, which I do find a ton of fun, especially with the most recent patch (v1.25). I also have a new array of games (and old ones) that have been keeping me occupied. Yet, I still plan on popping in to see whats up with all my homies here in the GalCiv community. I can also be caught in the GalCiv/SF (SF is also another great game) IRC chat. So feel free to drop me a line whenever.
Well that just sums it all up for those with the questions and concerns. I am still alive and killin
Till then, see ya in the Altarian chambers of pain and death
