why do starship pics go missing in a long game

hey all

i have this annoying problem that many times the pics of various ships will not load when the ship is created.

this usually happens late in the game on a gigantic map

it also happens with advanced ships only such as the avatar class

This is a know bug from long ago that hasn't been resolved.To correct just save current game and exit to windows and then restart.

Because I'm pretty sure Stardock still hasn't been able to find exactly what causes it. At least I seem to remember that being the answer a previous time it was asked.
