Allies....

I researched the Allied tech, but I can't ally with any other civ's. And they all allied against me and im in the process of being owned by 4 computer players. There are a few other civs which arent against me, and which may save me. Does anyone know how to ally?

There are grades of relationships with an AI like hostile, wary, cool, neutral, friendly, and close (I probably forgot some). You need to have a *close* relationship with the AI to ally. When you have a close relationship and you both have the alliance tech, then there is an option to ally when you chat with the AI.

You can improve the relationship by trading with them or giving them lots of pressies. :)

Having multiple trade routes is the best way to the AI's heart. However with 5 AIs, you have to pick your routes strategically for their political as well as financial value.

BTW, isn't it odd that you're limited to 10 trade routes regardless of universe size. I mean 10 trade routes in a tiny universe is more than reasonable. 10 Trade routes in a Gigantic universe seems very odd.
