Changing default settings in .ini file?

I looked but didn't see this previously addressed, hard to believe!

I always start my games with the same settings - production, research, economy, etc. It is a minor hassle to reset them from the default each time I start a game. Is there a file somewhere that would let me set the initial tax rates, research project, earth's production, etc. so that I didn't need to change it for each new game? -Scott

Hmmm that seems strange, I mostly play with the same settings but it never resets between games.
Does anyone else get their settings reset between games?

The game normally uses the last game's settings as the default for a new game... Is your perfs.ini file locked or marked read-only, perhaps?

I don't mean the overall game preferences, I mean my sliders mostly. The default tech to research is Weapons Theory, I want it to be Comm Theory. The default spending is 33/33/34, I want it to be 42/16/42. Taxes are 33(?), I want 42, and so forth. The game settings work just fine wrt difficulty, alignments, size, etc.

As far as I know, there's no way to do that, Bralex....
