A Note About Sound Problems

A little story :)
I had problems with the sound effects not working but the music was ok. One day i loaded Galciv left it on the main menu and went off to make a coffee, i have an old kettle and it took about five minutes till i came back selected load and when it got to 8% the music didnt disappear :CONGRAT: it continued to load and the sound effects were there. Well i never really noticed till the next time i loaded a save game, i loaded Galciv and clicked on load game straight away and when it got to 8% the music dissappeared then came back , loaded to 100$. Music ok but no sound effects. Me being blonde it took a few loads and coffee's till the penny dropped :) so i tested it lots and it seems if i wait five mins, go off read the forums or make a coffee etc THEN load or start a new game the sound effects work.
Spec:
P3-1000
Geforce TI4400
Audiolgy 2
256 mb memory
all drivers and whatnot updated / checked

So i was wondering if the 'load in the background' part of the program is what is causing some of the problems peeps are having? and yes before i get flamed like a grilled thing i HAVE GOT IT TURNED OFF :)

LOL
I did a similar thing. Wrote to Cari and everything. Could not figure out why the game music would quit when it was loading.

I had music on
I had sound FX on

I had user defined playlist "yes"......... duh. Nothing like the sound of an empty folder.

Do you have winamp or windvd loaded? If you do then goto drengin.net(top of page)and look under troubleshooting. You will find an updated audio codec that should fix your problem.

No to the user defined playlist, that is off.
No to winamp and windvd.
As i said it is a BUG, just wondered if anyone else had noticed. And just for those who might be having a blonde moment trying to figure it out, IT CAN BE REPLICATED EACH AND EVERY TIME, therefore its a BUG.
If i load GalCiv and then load a saved game straight away i lose the sound effects but not the music, if i wait for 5 minutes and then load the save game (or start a new one) it works fine, and as i said i can replicate it every time without fail, so its not an external program causing the problems, its internal.
