In game cinematics!

anyone know how to shut off the annoying graphics that appear between race selection screen and starting the game? the one of the ship launching. gets annoying having to keep pressing mouse button.

A single extra click at the begining of each game can be annoying....... I guess :notsure:

more the time elapsed whilst it starts and finishes. my computer is fast enough to launch game only couple of secs after ai clicks. so in this case one extra click equates to nearly 10 secs. ;)

I can appreciate what your saying. I only have the bare min 128 ram (even tho I have 1700mhz processor), and it takes my computer a good 30-45 sec to load a new game. I just don't find it that annoying.

IF given the option to turn it off, I would. But as it is now, I have the time to make sure my coffee cup is full before commiting mass galatical genocide. :D

Go to the directory that contains the movies usually galciv/movies.In it you will find all the movies.reame the couple called sf_intro and intro.bik to old and the name.Ex. oldintro.bik and oldsf_intro.bik

Delete or rename the BNK files in the GalCiv root and gfx directories with the word 'intro' in the name. That should remove the opening videos and the start of game video. The others will be unaffected.

(And incidentally, I used to use the name Nathan Rahl in a MUD, and later, when I became an admin, Drefan Rahl. We also had an admin using the name Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander. We both used a clone of the Sword of Truth as our standard gear, not that equipment has any purpose for admin other than for appearance. Interesting place, at times, although we used to get a good number of trolls....)
