How does one score 60,000?

Just curious about how to get this massive score. I know the setting has to be masochistic, but what else is involved?

Gigantic Universe and a military victory. It can be done with a huge universe as well allegedly.

Getting a gigantic, military, maso to net 60k is easier on 1.11 than 1.10. You don't even need to finish the tech tree on 1.11.

I have never heard of any other person getting 60k on a game smaller than maso that was started, finished, and submitted in the same version. A few have a 60k metaverse score from resubmitting a large or huge 1.10 game on 1.11. Please correct me if I am overlooked something recently.

On the current huge maso military victory, I get 50k if I don't research all the tech but almost 53k if I do. Better players routinely get over 53k on huge maso 1.11. Good luck. :)

Another useful tip . . .

What seems to bump up the score also . . .

Try setting 'ALL' the aliens to Incredible (i.e. you can play Maso with one Alien set as only a Genius but it lowers your overall score) . . .

Also try playing the opposite alignment (well finishing as the opposite alignment realy is all that matters) to the other AIs. This gives your score a big boost too! (i.e. Set all the AIs to evil and finish as Good or Saintly) . . .

Actually, three Incredible and two Genius majors is the bottom cutoff for Maso. It's sad that a Genius AI is now considered easy prey...well, relatively, anyway.

Amidala/Cotal if I was one of those who said anything that could hurt you, I publicly apologize to you, right here, right now, in front of everyone. I know that sometimes I let my over passion for this game to control my emotions, so for that reason I apologize to you here. At the same time you know that I was trying to make your stay with us very pleasant, let me jus post couple of my comments to you (The nice ones) like this one: "Again silence has taken over the proud Jedi Republic, what happened I asked one of the few guards remaining in the Temple?

Didn't you hear my LORD? Some ex-convicts from the ANZAC empire attacked one of our trader ship in the GROSS sector and it was completely destroyed.

That was the reason I have felt this omnious wight on my heart!!! It is time to escort my Lady Amidala to safety and I shall return to avenge the death of the ambassador Ray the Wanderer, only few people knew that he was traveling undercover in that freighter back to FOTR. I can feel a tremor in The Force, the time to use the lightsabers has arrived.!!!!"

-------------------------------
"My lady Amidala your Jedi Master has arrived to scort you to your castle, please follow me. Those hideous mercenaries from GROSS are still running loose around the Metaverse."

-------------------------------
"My lady Amidala for member of the Jedi Council, how better can the Good side of The Force be represented other than the beauty and talent of the most heroic figure of the century, so here is my vote for you."
-------------------------------
So again if I offended you, my apologies, you have to excuse my Irish/scottish/cuban flare for the game.

Sorry I couldn't (and still can't) get the forums up through explorer . . .

All is forgiven and I apologize as well . . . let the happiness spew forth like cool water from a busted fire hydrant on a hot summers day bring unexpected joy upon both passers by and spectators alike.

Now I will winge . . . how come I have custome desktop stuff clugging up my computer all over the place (7 extra processes buzzing along) after I recently reinstalled GC? And why does this site lag so much lately . . . ? Are these unreasona . . . .

Obi Wan Kenobi - the topic was maximizing score, not playing Maso.

To maximize I believe you need *all* AI's on Incredible, and most, if not all, need to have the opposite alignment. I play pure good, so I set the AI's to pure evil.

I have 2 set to pure evil, 2 set to chaotic evil and one to neutral...

I start off evil usually due to early doors picks and it now doesn't seem to matter if you dont get to be good by the end you still get the 60K

I usually take default AI alignments. Hope for a center position on the map - to enhance trade between the AI's. I usually choose the "good" picks on events, although a good PQ bonus now and then is helpful.

Then play the game out. I usually don't research the whole tree (typically only get to the 4D part of the tree). Trade techs like mad - research what the major AIs don't go for (green and yellow techs for the most part). Whoever gets the diplo translators - find them and trade for them. Two of my last three masos were done without the aid of diplo trans and they were the toughest of all the games I have played.

Keep the AIs fighting each other as much as you can. Take resources whenever they are available (econ, influence and morale are my priorities).

For me military assaults don't work very well, so I usually go for cultural and clean up with terror stars.

Ouch. OK. Score maximizers:

A high military rating - I believe this is affected not only by the raw power of ships constructed, but also in the number of soldiers killed. If someone has definite information on this, I'd appreciate it.

Society, meaning culture. Culture bombers have a natural advantage here. Lots of improvements, lots of wonders, and a maxed-out cultural and morale resource or three.

Population. Being at a population DISADVANTAGE and eventually pulling out a win gives a boost. Sitting on a large population will not rack up additional points.

Technology. The consensus seems to be that a tech you've researched yourself is worth more Metaverse points at game completion than one acquired through trade. Getting ALL of the techs provides a bonus.

Economy. Be as profitable as you can without triggering an Anomalous score. Econ resources help, as do trade SBs.

Map size. Bigger is better.

Difficulty level. Harder is better. As Cotal stated, putting all of the AIs on Incredible provides a higher score than having one (or two!) on Genius.

Add all of the above into a Gigantic pot, set to Maso. Stir frequently. Allow to simmer for several hours at a minimum to yield one 60K cap game. Or so I'm told; my PC shudders on a Large and my eyes freak out looking at the mini-map. And I've only completed one game where I had the patience to finish the tech tree...

Any advice out there on how I can get a higher score on Huge Maso Maps . . . just played one about as well as I could imagine (I missed two Trade goods and one wonder . . . huh!) . . . :notsure:

Has anyone kicked 55k on Huge?

I like to use rare . . . I might give uncommon a go tonight, thanks for the suggestion (it might just work) . . .
I'll see how it goes. Huge seems so small after you've been playing Gigantic, so the extra planets shouldn't make it too much extra work . . .

Actually, while I have your presence I was going to ask what difference (if any) is there between setting the AIs as Pure or Chaotic Evil? I've noticed the Chaotics sometimes take a more neutral path alignment wise . . . but other than that there equally as rude/arrogant or sucky/crawly?
