SETI@Home and Stardock Central

Hello. Is there any way that Stardock Central can be made to work with SETI@Home? It is incredibly annoying that every day I have to shut down SETI@Home, run Stardock Central and then restart SETI@HOME. The whole point of SETI@Home is that it is always running... I would appreicate any help you could give.

I use SETI driver with no problems.

Seti Driver pumps out the WU faster too and you can set it up to que WU so that if the server goes down it can still do something.

just wondering, does anyone know of any other similar programs that work on the same concept as SETI@home that can be downloaded? i think its kinda neat having my computer do something usefull while im not using it.

If I have Seti@home running and fire up SDC, SDC usually fails to log in and register. I have to stop SETI and then start SDC.

If I remember there was a setting for seti that would stop it if you used your computer. It would return to running after computer sat idle for awhile.

No the team is moving onto a new program called BOINC
or something like that. It will allow any sciece crunching to be done and the users can proportionally pick which scientific studies they want to crunch for.

This looks rather like a prototypical GRID idea for distributed computing. Reading the Seti@home website it looks like you can still sign up with them and they'll migrate you once BOINC is operational.

Nice acronym though :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this not a textbook example of the original idea of the internet, connecting and sharing data crunching capabilities with no borders for the sake of science! Is the net coming all the way round from scientific tool to glorified message board to major capatilistic tool to scientific tool? I hope so!
