Stardock central does not close?

OK, perhaps this is not the right forum to put this in (if anyone knows where to, please redirect me - no newsgroups please. Can't read them).

When I start Stardock Central to check for updates, and then close it, it still runs in the background as 'not responding'.
Seems to have started happening with the most recent update?

Windows98SE
directX 9
stardock: 1.20.238 (build 34).

Any suggestion?

Thanks,

von Schmidt

Theres a couple things you could try . . . but this is what I do.

I uninstall SDC (I only realy use it when a product/update I want becomes available) and delete the registry keys for it . . . I've been getting a bit of gumming up in my registry anyway so I used regclean which is available for free . . .

If you need SDC I can't offer any useful advice, I've had a few problems with it (installing parts of it's Object Desktop etc)

Be sure to be careful and only remove the SD components from the registry i.e. MCPClient

http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=109210#111208 . . .

then you can reinstall SDC at your leisure when you need it.

Please anyone out there correct me if theres a better solution . . . :)

I find that this happens if you close stardock central before it logs on properly. which can take upto 2 minutes even though i'm on a cable connection.
