i know VERY basic modding i think lol, :D

i know its .ini or txt files that you change (i did the same for red alert 2 for p.c)on that i made VERY basic units ect...

soo its it as simple as that!? :d ;)

It's basically all text files. There's a link around in this forum to Hawaii5O's program which makes life easier (in particular, Galciv uses fixed numbers for many things, which makes it very painful to mod, but the editor does renumbering for you). Check the Galciv Writer thread (sticky).

If you're going to create mods that you want to share, the proper thing to do is to submit them to the Library. Alternately, since the Library doesn't always work, the folks at CDG will let you upload files.

The writer allows you to edit files in the game easily without having to use a text editor. Using a text editor you must know all the numbers and what they stand for.

Example: (Below is the Soil Enhancement improvement which improves your planet.) On the left are the titles for each possible variable for the imp. On the right are the numbers which give the imp. a characteristic. As long as you know what each number does and what each item on the right does you could do this in a text editor.
