Anybody wanna give this game a try??

I have a game that I have given up on. It was my first with the 1.12 patch, so I had stepped back from my usual painful difficulty level to tough.

To summarize, it is a tough game on a huge map. I made a good start by conquering many of the minor races planets, while keeping on reasonable terms with the majors. (The arceans have been worrisome though).

The arceans, altarians and torians have formed a troika alliance, which seems to be rock solid. I occupy approx one third of the map.

HOWEVER, my empire contains several I-League planets. The I-League decided they needed lebensraum, and declared war. (They actually had done this earlier, however I had fleets stationed to strike at 2 of their planets, which I took and then negotiated a peace.)

I control more planets (of a better quality) than the I-League, and , I would assume, a greater manufacturing potential. However, as their ships possess astonishing defence ratings, I'm having little luck in wearing down their fleet. If the majors were not allied, I would sue for peace with the I-League and expand elsewhere, hoping to stike back back at the I-League later. Alas, this doesn't seem to be an option.

So any of the gurus wanna try this game and see if its winnable??

Just explain how I can forward a saved game to you, and its all yours...

;) ;)

If you can get an Alliance with one of the Triads you'll be in a better position . . . Most of the time if one of the remaining two AIs starts a conflict the other with rally to your defence.

Good luck :)

Yes...at an earlier point I was allied with the altarians, but unfortunatly when war broke out between me and the arceans, it was terminated and I was at war with all 3.

Just had a thought, I could purchase my way to an alliance with all of the troika and then bribe them into war with the I-League, but I fear this would be too expensive, and they would be disinclined to maintain a war in the long term.

I've looked at your game, Stupot.

The Arcs are about equal in power to you but are allied with the Tors and Alts.

A pure military victory is still possible if you concentrate on mopping up the 4 remaining minors and then ramp up to take on the alliance but it would definitely be a long and painful slugfest.

Alternatively, you can try for an alliance victory. Since the Tors are already at close, you basically need to butter up to the other two which are currently at Cool. Remember that relations are also dependent on relative power so you still need to build up your economy and military while presenting gifts to the Arcs and Alts. I notice you are already have trade routes with them which is good. You can either research and gift techs or even gift systems to improve relations.

Another way is to win via culture. Develop influence resources and build influence wonders/TGs. Buy influence starbases from the AI using cash, tech, systems, etc. Build multiple party palaces in adjacent sectors to AI systems and watch them flip. If you get a significant influence advantage over the AI (say 200%), colonise systems in the AI sectors to flip them.

Lastly, you can go for the terror star big cheese, spam constructors (five for each AI system), park them next to the AIs' systems. Build Terror Stars all at one turn and take out everyone in the next.

Yes...the alliance victory definitely seems the easiest.

I'm just worried whether I can maintain an adequate income to acheive this :notsure:

I'd be interested in seeing if you as a guru could defeat the I-League though
