What am I missing?

Hello everyone.

I bought the game last week and jumped right in. I played a few different games at different difficulties. Basically I decided I wanted to research everything to see the results. What really caught my eye was Star Creation and Galaxy Creation.

I put some seroius hours into playing to get to these tech levels... Is there something I'm missing? I finally achieved star creation and couldn't make a spark. I kept playing thinking I needed more... I finally got galaxy creation and nothing... Please... Someone tell me that these things are possible. I really was looking forward to pulling a Genesis maneuver on one of the other races

Cross your fingers and hope there's something cool planned for the expansion. Most of the endgame techs are nothing more than creatively named speed bumps to stop you from winning with 'Final Frontier' or mopping up the map with Excaliburs.

Galactic Creation used to at least give you an empire wide 10% PQ bonus but they removed it for no adequately explained reason but *didn't* reduce its cost (they similarly nerfed Near Omnipotence without any reduction in cost).
