Population growth efficiency vs morale

Just wondering where the breakdown is for morale vs. population growth. In another thread someone said pop growth stops at a morale less than 50 and anything greater than 58 is the same. This doesn't seem right to me, has anyone actually done any kind of test to get an idea on how this breaks down,

i.e (just an example not saying this is right):
if (morale40) pop growth = 0
if (morale50) pop growth = 10%
if (morale>58) pop growth = 20%

IS it a linear relationship or expondential maybe?

Morale between 54 and 99 is at the normal growth rate, of a certain percent per year (3% if I recall correctly).
Morale less than 54 leads to population decline.
Morale of 100 gives double population growth.

I don't think anyone's actually tested this for several versions but I don't think there's any reason that it should have changed.

There's a cap of 200mil growth per turn, however, and a total planetary population cap of 100bil, regardless of morale or PQ.

I play with a full population bonus (+70% i.e. 'Don't Ask') . . . good for income and provides an almost inpenitrable barrier against invasion for unprotected planets . . .

I'm not sure of the relationship in population as compared to the moral . . . i.e. if it's linear or logorythmic . . . I might pay closer attention next time and get back to you on this one . . .
